Marine litter monitoring continues

Our project team, Udruga za prirodu, okoliš i održivi razvoj Sunce, continues with monitoring of marine litter at town beach Omiš, the Neretva and Zaglav beach on the island of Vis.

The collected marine litter was analyzed, counted and weighed to get the best information on the quantity and composition of it.

The overwhelming part of the marine litter consists of plastic materials, the foreheads of the ears, bottle caps and cigarette butts.
These data also point to the need to establish a more efficient waste management model.
